Spellfury 4 update and Spellfury News!

Hi, Currently working on Spellfury 4, it's taken a while to get done but I'm trying out a lot of new things, first this episode will feature Our first organic 3d creature, we've had mild success with how it's looking and I've learned a lot of lessons. We also just had a good review of Spellfury at:
Tubefilter reviews Spellfury
If all goes well I'm hoping to have episode 4 out next weekend.

Tip #1 on being a Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons Role playing game!

We played a pretty fun game last night, and I was thinking about what makes a good game and what a dungeon master has to do to get there.
TIP ONE KEEP THINGS INTERESTING, if it starts to drag, add something! Make something up, just adding something interesting storywise can light things up. Here's an example, the group was slowly working their way down a hallway with multiple doors, systematically the were working their way through all the rooms, this was taking a while, a Harpy was waiting for them in the last room, I could sense that some of the players were getting bored so I had the Harpy start singing every now and then (she wasn't supposed to), they weren't sure what it was, a ghost? Crazy person? It was great foreshadowing, as they got closer to the room the tension built, the players were engaged, I had them back.

Hope that helps,

Travis

Dragonslayer

Hi guys, been doing a lot of research into all things fantasy lately (For our show SPELLFURY) and came across "Dragonslayer" a movie that came out in 1981.
I had somehow missed this film and people on twitter were saying it was awesome. I finally found myself a copy and rather enjoyed it. The film is about a young apprentice who has to kill a dragon to save a town. The Dragon VFX were very well done for the time and I would say the battle between the humans and the dragon is the best human vs. dragon fight ever done.
It stars Peter MacNicol and Caitlin Clarke and they both did a great acting job. After checking out the film I visited IMDB and found out that Caitlin had passed away, a lady on twitter (Jessica Trovato) had grown up with her and told me "she was even more awesome in person. She was unphased by stardom which made her so wonderful."
I highly recommend this film and I will be buying it on DVD shortly.

Piers Anthony!

Hi Guys,
Was rereading some fantasy novels from my collection (Golem in the Gears, Vale of the Vole) and did a Google search for "Piers Anthony" (Writer of the awesome Xanth Series 34 novels and growing).
At 74 he's written some amazing books and has an EXCELLENT newsletter about the process of writing and editing your own work:
http://www.hipiers.com/newsletter.html

I also sent him this e-mail:

Hi Piers,
Love your work!
Just finished reading your newsletter Feblueberry 2009 it was great, I'm a film maker but I find it's the same creative process as writing a book.
Your diamond in the rough metaphor was excellent, I spent 6 years working on a feature length film that ended up with a rough draft edit of 6 hours!!!
But SLOWLY bit by bit i have it down to 1 hour and 45 minutes and am currently sending it off to Festivals.
Lately I've been writing/directing/producing online web shows, recently I've been working on a Fantasy Action web series and would ABSOLUTELY LOVE your opinion of it!

HE RESPONDED!!!

Thank you for your note. We have printed it for Piers Anthony and he gave us the following answer for you:
I'm on dialup. It took 15 minutes just to get your site loaded, and more time to get any images. But it does look like fun. I was Visitor #5235.

It's great he took the time to go to my site, nice to be in communication with a writing LEGEND!!!

Episode 3 of SPELLFURY

Hi Guys,
Trying to get Episode 3 of Spellfury out for this Friday, there is a LOT of Visual Effects shots and we'll see in the next few days if this is possible. The executive producer (Jason Devlin) is coming down Thursday to help. Also have some assistants coming in to help on Thursday. If I can get it ready we'll have to promote the hell out of it this weekend which is a huge job by itself.

Wish us luck,

Travis Gordon
